MiG 21 Engraved Whiskey Glass
Few aircraft anywhere in the world have flown as long, fought as hard, or meant as much as the MiG-21. Sleek, fast, and unforgiving, the MiG-21 shaped generations of pilots and stood guard over Indian skies for more than six decades. The MiG-21 Engraved Whiskey Glass pays tribute to a fighter that became a legend not because it was easy—but because it endured.
Precision-engraved in crisp technical line art, this glass captures the unmistakable delta wing silhouette of an aircraft that defined the Indian Air Force’s jet age.
Why the MiG-21 is legendary in India
-
India’s first supersonic fighter
The MiG-21 entered Indian Air Force service in 1963, instantly catapulting India into the supersonic era. For a young nation, it was more than a fighter—it was a statement of modernity and confidence. -
Built in India, flown by thousands
Hundreds of MiG-21s were licence-produced by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, making it one of the most widely flown fighters in IAF history. Almost every Indian fighter pilot for decades trained on or flew the MiG-21 at some point. -
From interceptor to warrior
The MiG-21 saw combat in multiple conflicts, including 1965, 1971, and 1999. During the 1971 war, MiG-21s achieved decisive air combat victories, helping secure air superiority and cementing their combat reputation. -
The Bison transformation
In the late 1990s, India undertook an ambitious upgrade program, turning aging airframes into the MiG-21 Bison—equipped with modern radar, beyond-visual-range missiles, helmet-mounted sights, and upgraded avionics. It was one of the most dramatic mid-life fighter upgrades ever attempted. -
A moment etched in history (2019)
On 27 February 2019, a MiG-21 Bison flown by Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman shot down a Pakistani F-16 during aerial combat before being hit himself. That single engagement rewrote perceptions of the aircraft worldwide and reaffirmed that skill, courage, and tactics matter as much as technology. -
Loved, feared, respected
Among pilots, the MiG-21 earned nicknames that reflected its personality—fast, demanding, and brutally honest. It punished mistakes but rewarded precision, creating aviators known for discipline and sharp flying skills.

The Making
Each Glass Collection concept starts with procuring detailed blueprints of the design and then designing the cuts on Adobe Illustrator. These drawings are then passed on to the laser which then cuts fine lines on the glass. These are then hand engraved again to a shimmering finish with brilliant clarity.
The video shown here is of the hand engraving process which follows the laser cut.
