Raise a glass to the skies of heavy-lift aviation. The Mil Mi-26 “Halo” Engraved Whiskey Glass is a tribute piece that blends bold engineering, aviation history and fine craftsmanship. Precision engraved onto premium crystal-clear glass is the unmistakable silhouette of the Mi-26 — the world’s largest production helicopter — capturing its massive rotor, dual engines and cavernous transport fuselage.

Why this piece is special

  • Heavy-lift legend: The Mi-26 was designed in the Soviet era to lift payloads up to 20 tonnes and remains the largest production helicopter in the world.

  • Indian service story: The IAF inducted four Mi-26s between 1986 and 1989 and assigned them to No. 126 Helicopter Flight “Featherweights” at Chandigarh.

  • Aviation anecdotes:

    • The Mi-26 still holds a world record for the greatest mass lifted by a helicopter to 2,000 metres: 56,768.8 kg in 1982.

    • In Indian operations it undertook massive logistic and transport missions in remote terrain, underscoring its unique capability in high-altitude and heavy-lift roles.

  • Design of the glass: Meticulously etched, the image of the Mi-26 on the glass depicts its rotor span, fuselage bays, and multi-wheel landing gear in crisp line art — a visual tribute to the heavy-lift craft.

  • Collector-worthy: Whether you’re a veteran of rotary-wing aviation, a collector of military memorabilia, or simply someone who appreciates fine drinkware with story and purpose, this glass delivers.

The Making

Each Glass Collection concept starts with procuring detailed blueprints of the design and then designing the cuts on Adobe Illustrator. These drawings are then passed on to the laser which then cuts fine lines on the glass. These are then hand engraved again to a shimmering finish with brilliant clarity.

The video shown here is of the hand engraving process which follows the laser cut.
