Raise your glass to the legendary gunship of the Indian skies. The Mil Mi-35 Engraved Whiskey Glass is more than drinkware — it’s a salute to one of the most iconic attack helicopters to serve in the Indian Air Force. Engraved with precision, the silhouette of the Mi-35 — known as “Akbar” in IAF parlance — stands proud, capturing the strength, agility and legacy of a rotor-craft that has served in front-line roles, high-altitude challenges and international missions.

Why this glass stands out

  • A story of attack aviation in India: The Mi-25 / Mi-35 family was inducted into the IAF’s attack-helicopter stream with units such as No. 104 Helicopter Squadron and No. 125 Helicopter Squadron (the “Firebirds” and “Gladiators” respectively).

  • High-altitude legend: In the mountainous terrain of the Himalayas, the Mi-35 saw challenging operations. In one notable exercise, the IAF tested the Mi-35’s capability to fly over passes such as Zoji La, albeit after weight reduction, illustrating the helicopter’s role in India’s harsh terrain environment.

  • Multi-role capability: More than just an attacker, the Mi-35 could be configured for troop-carry, transport or strike roles — blurring the line between gunship and utility helicopter. The export version “Mi-35M” emphasises this dual-capability.

  • Collector appeal: This whiskey glass is not just functional; it’s a tribute piece for the aviation-minded, the defence-hereditary, and the ones who appreciate craft meeting legacy.

The Making

Each Glass Collection concept starts with procuring detailed blueprints of the design and then designing the cuts on Adobe Illustrator. These drawings are then passed on to the laser which then cuts fine lines on the glass. These are then hand engraved again to a shimmering finish with brilliant clarity.

The video shown here is of the hand engraving process which follows the laser cut.
